The small village of Loutro is a haven of peace which we can reach only by boat or mule track. No roads. A small beach of pebbles and semi circle sans, attached to the mountain, where cheer up some limed houses (about forty) forming a merry labyrinth interrupted with small hotels and with souvenir shops. The only street of the village is the one which crosses the small port. No car and quiet tourism, far from nightclubs and crowdy evenings.South in its best, which incites to the rest, even to the meditation! That’s maybe why some stars and personalities opted for this small village to spend their holidays there. Sign of the peace which reigns in this place: the monokini is forbidden.
For those who prefer a beach except the village, other choices offer themselves to them: Sweetwater beach, or Glyka nera in Greek (follow the mule track eastward) or, eastward, the beaches of Phoenix (20minutes of walking), Likki (30minutes) and the magnificent beach of Marmara, at 1 hour walking. It’s possible to go there by boat. Ask for informations at the small port.
